1. What are cookies? 

Cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage, SDKs) are small files or code snippets placed on your device. Some are essential for the site to function. Others (analytics and marketing/identification) are non-essential and used only with your consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (“PECR”) and the UK GDPR.

2. How we use cookies

  • Essential – security, load balancing, fraud prevention, remembering your cookie choices, and enabling key features. These are strictly necessary and do not require consent.
  • Analytics (consent-based) – to understand site usage and improve performance (e.g., Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Clarity).
  • Marketing & identification (consent-based) – to measure advertising effectiveness, create/optimise audiences, and recognise visiting organisations (e.g., Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads/Conversion Linker, Visitor Queue).

3. The tools we use (illustrative)

Depending on your consent, we may use:

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM): a container that deploys other tags.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): analytics measurement; if consented, GA4 may set first-party cookies and/or use local storage.
  • Microsoft Clarity: we work with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to understand how visitors use our website, through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay, so we can improve and market our products and services. If you consent, usage data is collected with first- and third-party cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) and similar technologies, and used for site improvement, fraud and security purposes, and advertising.   • Google Ads & Conversion Linker: marketing measurement and attribution.
  • Meta Pixel: advertising measurement, reporting, and audiences across Meta technologies.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: advertising analytics and audiences on LinkedIn.
  • Visitor Queue (rise.visitorqueue.com): identifies organisations visiting our site by processing IP addresses and matching to company networks; may enrich with firmographic data.
    We may also test or replace tools with similar alternatives from time to time (we will continue to categorise them as Analytics or Marketing & identification).
Important: We will not set Analytics or Marketing & identification technologies until you consent via our cookie banner/preferences.

4. Managing your choices

Banner & preferences: On your first visit, you can accept, reject, or manage settings. You can revisit choices any time via Cookie settings in our footer.

Browser controls: You can also block/delete cookies via your browser. Blocking some cookies may impact site functionality.

5. Retention

Consent logs are kept for 6–12 months (we re-ask at 6 months). Individual cookie lifetimes vary by tool (typically from session up to 12 months). Your browser or our consent tool may show specific lifetimes.
